What’s it all about?
On 5 September 1909 several groups of girls, calling themselves Girl Scouts, turned up at the first Boy Scout rally asking if they could take part. In response Lord Baden Powell, founded the Girl Guides in 1910.
In 2009/10 we are celebrating 100 years of Guiding, a movement that now has 10 million members worldwide.
